Lonliness and high finctioning PDD young adult

Hello all, my son who is 22 is very loney. He has no friends, and has never had a girlfriend. He works, drives, cooks and basically self sufficient. He is very handsome

with an athelic build. His biggest problem is communicating. People steer away from him because of his lack of communicating. It is so depressing watching him constantly alone. Where and what can I do to help him. We have tried social groups when he was younger. Seems though at this age, there  isnt that much out there. He recently joined a dating site for aspergers, and that doesnt seem to be working out. Any suggestions anyone can offer would be so helpful. We live in Long Island, New York.

  • Going through support groups through grasp.org and through social actvities at university works. I would try grasp.org and definetely think about joining support groups there as there are some in person ones in New York state.
  • In reply to Sapphire:

Thank you for your help. Will defiantly look into grasp
  • Nothing is more attractive than competence. I suggest he find a group representing one of his obsessions, and join in with that group.
  • We live in Manhattan maybe our families could meet . My daughter is an 18 year old aspie - who loves gaming , drawing, manga and is a fan of Comic Con. She is also isolated since graduating with a Regent's diploma last June. She'll be starting college in the fall.
